Honda Odyssey Reviews and Accolades

With the 2014 Odyssey, Honda continues to innovate and offer up the most space-efficient interior for families, while driving better than most crossovers and SUVs.
The Car Connection

The 2014 Honda Odyssey is a top pick for minivans thanks to its versatile interior, long list of features and engaging driving dynamics.

Pros: Agile handling; fuel-efficient V6; quiet cabin; configurable second-row seat; easy-to-fold third-row seat.

The Odyssey minivan remains at the top of the class as an overall ownership proposition. Families will discover dozens of surprise and delight elements in the back seats, while the split-screen monitors will help calm the fighting children. If you need a minivan and are willing to accept that fact, the Honda Odyssey is among the best.
Top Speed

The Honda Odyssey is about function and making family life easier. It can carry a family of eight, or half a high-school soccer team, with all their coolers, balls, tents, shoes, whatever. It can tow a small trailer with a motorcycle or watercraft. It can carry 4x8 plywood flat on the floor, with 10-foot-long boards can be stacked on them, extending between the front seats when the convenient removable console is taken out. Best of all, it's loaded with conveniences designed to simplify life.

The Odyssey steps up its safety features with Lane Departure Warning Systems as well as Forward Collision Warning systems on EX-L and above trim models.  All Odyssey trim levels come standard with antilock disc brakes , stability and traction control, active front head restraints, side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags.

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) comes on EX-L and above models.  A small camera mounted on top of the front windshield detects any vehicles or pedestrians in front of you.  If the system determines that a you are in danger of an accident it sets of audio and visual alerts to warn you!

The Lane Departure Warning (LDW) uses the same small camera on top of the windshield and provides an audio warning to the driver when he/she is making an un-indicated departure from their lane. The system is smart enough to know if the driver is using their blinker and all audio warnings are disabled.

Honda Odyssey adds new airbag technology with SmartVent Front Side Airbags. Of course everyone hopes to avoid an accident but in the unfortunate event you have one, Honda has you covered.  This new Smart Vent technology is designed to protect the driver or passenger from upper body injury.  It is also smart enough to vent before it fully inflates if the driver or passenger is in the airbags deployment path, this will help decrease the probability for an injury from the airbag itself.

The Odyssey has top safety in mind for every passenger with three-row side curtain airbags with a rollover sensor. The side curtain airbag module is positioned along the side of the headliner. In the event of a sufficient side impact or rollover, this system is designed to activate to help provide protection for front and outboard rear occupants.
"THE BIG 300"

"I missed the moment when my Odyssey turned 200,000, so I wanted to make sure I wouldn't miss this time when it turned 300,000. It was a great moment for me, made more special since my 17-year old was driving it while I took the picture of the speedometer. We were coming home from his visit to McKendree University. I am also glad that my four kids and wife were with me. This Odyssey has taken our children safely to and from churches, schools, vacations and grocery stores. It has been a great Odyssey in more ways than one. Looking forward to the next 100,000 miles." Alvin V
