Performance

250-hp, 3.5-Liter, 24-Valve SOHC i-VTEC® V-6 Engine
The 2013 Honda Pilot is powerful. When you take a look under the hood you will find a 250-hp, 3.5-liter, SOHC, 24-valve i-VTEC® engine featuring the latest version of Honda's advanced Variable Cylinder Management? (VCM®) system.

5-Speed Automatic Transmission with Grade Logic Control
What is Grade Logic Control? To put it simply, it improves efficiency under a wide variety of driving conditions. Conditions like uphill and downhill driving and city-traffic driving. The technology can detect when the Pilot is on a hill and automatically holds the engine in a lower gear for better climbing power and increased engine braking when going downhill.

Hill Start Assist
Some drivers say that starting on a hill is one of the worst driving experiences they can experience. Honda comes to the rescue with Hill Start Assist. It prevents the Pilot from rolling forward or backward when stopped on a steep grade. The Honda Pilot has sensors that detects when the driver's foot moves from the brake pedal to the accelerator, Hill Start Assist will maintain brake-line pressure for a brief moment when the brake pedal is released, giving the driver time to push the accelerator and resume motion.

Edmunds

The 2013 Honda Pilot looks tough and truck-like from the outside, yet inside it's one of the better family haulers. The Interior is spacious, versatile and can carry up to eight passengers. The Powertrain is smooth and refined.
The Car Connection

1: Intelligent Multi-Information Display (I-MID) - The I-MID system may make you feel at times like you are in a space ship but you don't need to be as smart as an astronaut to take advantage of all the awesome technology that comes with the new Pilot! This hi-resolution 8-inch display communicates vehicle information such as fuel consumption, Bluetooth, audio settings and more! You can even upload your own pictures to display as wallpaper on the display!

2: Audio Systems - The LX, EX and EX-L trim levels on the Honda Pilot now include a CD library that can store up to 2 GB of music from pre-recorded CD's! It also comes with Song By Voice technology that allows a driver to speak to the system and choose music so it does not become a distraction. Streaming audio is also a feature that can be found on all pilots which allow you to play music through the sound system from any smart phone!

3: Bluetooth and HandsFreeLink - This technology offered by Honda allows you to talk on the phone, play music and more while keeping your attention focused on where it should be...the road.

Folding the seats in numerous configurations will allow you to carry six passengers and still be able to fit the skis, snowboards, surfboards or whatever else you're carrying!

Safety

In order to earn Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety a vehicle must receive top ratings (good) in the moderate overlap front, side rollover and rear tests, regardless of their rating in the small overlap front test.

Of course nobody plans on getting in an accident but in the unfortunate event that you are Honda Pilot has you covered!

Front Side Airbags with Passenger-Side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) - In the event of a moderate-to-severe side impact, the side airbag inflates to help protect the driver's or front passenger's upper body. The Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) utilizes sensors in the front passenger's seatback to detect the height and seating position of the occupant. If a child or small-statured adult is leaning into the deployment path of the side airbag, sensors deactivate it.

Dual-Stage, Multiple-Threshold Front Airbags (SRS) - The Honda Pilot is equipped with dual-stage, multiple-threshold front airbags (SRS). One or both of these airbags will be deployed only in the event of a sufficient frontal impact. If deployed, these airbags are capable of being inflated at different rates depending on crash severity, seat-belt usage and/or other factors. Frontal airbags are designed to supplement the seat belts to help reduce the likelihood of head and upper body injuries in frontal crashes.

MEET LARRY'S PILOT

My 2003 Pilot has passed the 428,000 mile mark and is still going strong. I have added a shot of it passing the 400,000 mile mark. This pilot has had only a few maintenance issues over its life and has had only normal maintenance. The oil has been the most critical issue and only Mobile 1 extended performance has been used, maybe that is why such a good record for the vehicle.

This being my 5th Honda it is no surprise that I have a combined total mileage for the 5 units of 1.40 million driving miles. You might say I have been loyal to the brand, but that is not true. I ventured away for one of those expensive European cars and got the shock of my life. This thing was nothing but one maintenance nightmare, along with it's extreme cost of the service. After a year I drove it to my Honda dealer and that is where it stayed, and I got the Pilot which now boasts 442,000 miles. Larry E

SUMMARY

Where competitors focus on form over function, the Honda Pilot's clean, unique style simply "feels like home", where everything is where you would expect it. It's the perfect balance between everyday and SUV and it offers the best layout for people looking for value, space, performance and reliability. It's a great vehicle and it awaits you at Honda of Keene, a NH Honda dealership serving NH, VT, and Mass Honda buyers.
The Honda Pilot was awarded a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.  This award is a recognition of Honda's commitment to make safety a priority in all their vehicles.

I am very pleased with my new Pilot. The interior space is wide enough to haul my work but not too large like most full size SUVs. It gets good gas mileage, is comfortable to drive, feels secure while driving and it looks good. I could not be more pleased. I really love the Pilot.

The 2013 Pilot does just about everything right. Take the powertrain, for example. The 3.5-liter V6 coupled with Honda's tried-and-true 5-speed automatic transmission combine to deliver strong, smooth acceleration in virtually any situation. The Pilot seems to always know exactly how much power you need, and serves it up seamlessly.
Kelley Blue Book

With the Pilot Honda spent its dollars wisely, delivering a high-riding crossover with tons of smart features. Like a fine Bordeaux wine this vehicle has stood the test of time very well, and it continues to impress years after it was introduced.
